The life of a cop may not be as glamorous as the ‘big screen’ projects, but it’s a lot more fun. Thanks for visiting my website!
Ready, Aim, Trust will allow you a unique vantage point into a police officer’s life. My goal in writing this manuscript was to be transparent and express my thought processes as well as eventual outcomes. American Policing must reengage with our neighborhoods. This is only possible by increasing TRUSTbetween police and their community.
This book invites you to follow me from a young rookie in 1980, through my retirement as a captain in 2010. While I have been assigned to a wide-range of assignments, from high school undercover narcotics detective to a captain overseeing political corruption, good police work has two constants; building public trust and fighting bullies.
Ensuring ethical soundness requires us to search beneath the surface. The philosophy of Community Oriented Policing maximizes both technological advancements and human partnerships to improve our neighborhoods.
Thanks and God bless, Dan Barry
